Het kopen van een kaartje kan echt het verschil maken voor een ontwerper, maker of kleine zelfstandige. Dat is de insteek van de non-profit organisatie JUST A CARD.
Laat je steun zien
Met hun online en offline campagne moedigt JUST A CARD het grote publiek aan om kunstenaars, makers en onafhankelijke winkels te ondersteunen door ‘maar een kaartje’ bij hen te kopen. Wanneer je (nog) geen schilderij of ander werk wilt kopen, laat je op deze manier toch merken dat je hun werk wel waardeert. En wanneer genoeg mensen dit doen, maakt dit het verschil. Niet alleen financieel, maar ook gevoelsmatig. Want iedereen vindt het fijn om gewaardeerd te worden.
Natuurlijk kun je ook je steun tonen door onze posts op social media te liken. Nog beter, door een reactie te plaatsen of een bericht te delen! Hierdoor krijgen nog meer mensen de posts te zien en dat is altijd fijn.

Vandaag, 17 juni 2019, is uitgeroepen tot JUST A CARD dag op Instagram, Twitter én in de Londense Underground. Door de hashtags #justacard en #justsupportsmall te volgen op Instagram en Twitter kun je veel designers en makers ontdekken én hun werk steunen.
Een uitstekende datum om eindelijk weer een nieuwe blog te schrijven en om mijn ‘just a card’ kaartjes op de website te zetten. Twee kaartjes van eerder werk dat ik in 2008 en in 2009 maakte. De kaartjes heb ik jaren geleden al laten drukken, toen ik mijn brood nog verdiende met het maken van DM campagnes met ansichtkaarten. Met DM Gilde maakten we miljoenen gepersonaliseerde kaarten voor bedrijven. Toen DM nog Direct Mail betekende. 😉
En die liefde voor print is gebleven. Een echt kaartje in je brievenbus geeft toch een heel ander gevoel dan de stroom emails in de inbox van je telefoon, tablet of computer. Bovendien hoef je het kaartje niet per se te versturen, je kunt ‘m natuurlijk ook gewoon in een lijstje doen. Heb je toch een Ibbel Dibbel aan de muur!
De laatste blog die ik schreef, schreef ik in 2015 over mijn vader. Die blog heb ik overigens vandaag pas open gezet. Ik heb lang getwijfeld of ik het wel wilde delen. Maar het is voor mij een omslagpunt geweest. Je kunt niet wachten op dingen die gebeuren, je moet zelf je pad bepalen en dat blijft altijd spannend.
Nieuw in de shop
Wat ook spannend is, is dat er binnenkort nieuwe kaarten en schilderijen in mijn shop komen. Naast gedrukte kaarten en nog meer handbeschilderde kaarten introduceer ik dit jaar custom geprinte kaarten én prints op mooi papier. En natuurlijk voeg ik de komende tijd ook mijn schilderijen toe. Ik heb de laatste paar jaar veel geschilderd, op mijn Instagram account gedeeld en nu mogen ze toch echt eens op de website komen te staan. De website die ik -as we speak- nog aan het bouwen én vertalen ben. Dus kom snel weer terug.
